The last published post was April 6, 2017. That’s 361 days since I last wrote for Travel Blog Breakthrough. That’s almost a year. Crazy right how time flies. So much has happened since then and since I was regularly writing for this blog. This won’t be my usual full fledged post but really just wanted to say hello.
What have I been up to?
Well I sure as heck haven’t been twiddling my thumbs! I big part of my absence here has been focus. It’s something I preach on Travel Blog Breakthrough and I took my own advice to heart. It was simply too challenging to work a full time job, work on my travel blog, Going Awesome Places, and also the blog here.
So in September of 2017 I decided to make the big move and take on my travel blog full time. It wasn’t an easy decision to make but I felt like the combination of timing, where I was with the blog, and the opportunity to grow it was too great to pass up.
Now, I’m loving that I can work on my passion without having to juggle this and my 9-5 job. I love that I can finally focus on the things that matter instead of just treading to keep things afloat. Don’t get me wrong, it’s insanely hard work and I’m probably working more than I ever did before but it’s all worth it as this thing continues to grow.
Comeback In The Making?
So here’s the scoop. I’m thinking about making a come back and give a jolt of energy back to TBB but really need your support.
Thing is, aside from the analytics that I see and the one-odd email I get, I have no idea if any of my content is making an impact or if it’s something that people want more of. Do any of you even care if I bring back the income reports or provide nuggets of knowledge from all the things that I’ve learned over the years?
I want to hear from you. Has this blogged helped you in your travel blogging journey? Are there more questions that you have? More learning you want to do from me, the semi-pro?
Well awhile ago I set up a Patreon account as a way to gauge if anyone cared at all. Turns out nobody did other than one person who recently contributed. Jordan you’re my hero and seriously the reason why I started thinking about…maybe I should bring this back.
So here’s my challenge to you. For as little as $1 a month (yep that’s only $12 a year), you can tell me that TBB matters to you and that I should continue. If it matters more, there are other tiers set up where I can get you even more exclusive content and access to me.
Can’t leave here without setting a goal right? If I can get 10 patrons, then that’s a small enough signal for me to keep it going.
Have a question? Drop a line! Hopefully we can reach this goal and get this thing going again!
It’s a really motivating blog. Being a traveller i know how difficult it to be a travel blogger. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Will, great content on this site. I found your blogs linked from your awesome travel blog.
I really like how you post such detailed resources and how willing you are to share these info. For a newbie starting out with this, this blog is thoroughly helpful even though the posts are dated a few years ago.
and now, have passed more than year
over two years.
